Get Ready to Respond "Appropriately" this School Year

Parents are sometimes at a loss to respond to the "standard answers" that school districts use to deny, delay and demur in response to parents' questions and demands. The following chart may give parents the just right response for the next IEP meeting.

Wow, this is great. I'm one of those schoolies that this site frequently slams, but I think this chart is terrific. From my standpoint, if every parent could come in with this amount of info on IEPs and with these very appropriate remarks, I'd be on cloud nine. I just wish more positive articles with excellent concrete suggestions such as this were posted!!

Ed. note: despite what are perceived as slams, we love dedicated schoolies and try to appreciate all points of view.

Wow, great site! Thanks for the link.

This is great! Every parent should have these responses on in index card to use at meetings. Don't forget my favorite--when a teacher, administrator, document or specialist doesn't appear, "I will be happy to reschedule our meeting for a time when everyone is available and prepared."
